Baltic Countries professional skills competition for metalworking and mechanical engineering students of vocational education institutions took place in Jelgava

On September 8, 2023, in Jelgava, in the premises of ZRKAC, the final of the professional mastery competition for students of vocational education institutions of the Baltic countries took place in the following qualifications - mechanical engineering technician; welder; CNC setter.

In a fierce battle, 9 teams competed in the finals of the Baltic States professional mastery competition, demonstrating previously prepared homework and measuring their knowledge and abilities in the performance of theory and practical work in the professional field.

Contest results

Mechanical engineering technician/ locksmith

1st place. Tartu Vocational College Oskar Marty Hamer, Kristofer Poolakese, Samuel Tämm and teachers Oskar Hint, Nikolai Jukin.

2nd place. Valmiera technical school Matīss Meinards Puķulauks, Kristiāns Grencis, Dainars Miezis and teacher Roberts Beriņš.

3rd place. Kaunas technology training center Henrikas Gelūnas, Aivaras Stučinskas, Emilis Stankevičius and teachers Laurynas Vitkauskas and Tomas Čižikas.

Welder

1st place. Riga Metalworking Vocational Secondary School Bruno Leimanis, Nauris Smolenskis, Artis Students and teacher Genādijs Meteļskis.

2nd place. Tartu Vocational College Paul Teiter, Taavi Vegner, Marten Mäll and teacher Kaarel Rodima.

3rd place. Alita vocational education training center Eimantas Šakalis, Valdas Lėckas, Evaldas Jankeliūnas and teacherTomas Kuniejus.

CNC setter

1st place. Vilnius Technology and Engineering Training Centre Jokubas Labanauskas, Jonas Kaušilas, Justinas Vitkus and teacher Justinas Dundulis.

2nd place. Riga Technical College: Ervīns Zalva, Valentīns Vaļeckis, Namejs Egle and teachers Viktors Gutakovskis, Anda Kazuša.

3rd place. Tallinn Lasnamäe School of Mechanics Sever Mõistus, Vitold Pantserev, Aleksandr Selifanov and teacher Aleksandr Sagalajev.

The competition was organized by the Association of Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking Industries of Latvia (MASOC) and Zemgale Region Human Resource and Competences Development Centre, ZRKAC (Latvia) in cooperation with Federation of Estonian Engineering Industry (Estonia), Lithuanian engineering industries association (Lithuania), Tehnobuss Latvia (Latvia), Vilnius Technology and Engineering Training Center (Lithuania) and Merkuur OÜ (Estonia).
